To apply, students must:

1. Meet program eligibility requirements. Program eligibility requirements are listed below.

2. Be nominated. In order to apply, students must be nominated by one of their high school teachers, counselors, or mentors. The student nomination form can be found here. (Students may apply before being nominated, but the nomination and application must both be submitted by the deadline.)

3. Submit an online application. The application form requires an e-signature from parents or legal guardians, and acceptance into the program will require additional parental permissions. If students are unable to complete any part of the application for any reason, they are encouraged to contact the Washington State Leadership Board at Programs@wslb.wa.gov. Accommodations may be considered for special circumstances.

Program Eligibility Requirements:

• be a 10th grade student;

• be nominated by a teacher, counselor, or mentor;

• be a Washington state resident;

• have at least one year of formal Spanish instruction or equivalent conversational Spanish language proficiency; and

• be a U.S. citizen or a permanent legal resident of the United States.
